Businessman
At twenty-three years old, Mark created a company and today his
firm, Mark Price & Associates, is a successful international
marketing, consulting and public relations firm. Working primarily
with the automobile industry, Mark Price has developed strategies
for many of the nation’s largest automakers, including the Ford
Motor Company, Chevrolet, Toyota and Chrysler Corporation. His
“Ford’s Focus on Women” is still regarded in the industry as
an innovative strategy on corporate consumer relations. As a
business leader himself, Mark guided his own business through the
recession of the early ‘90s and crafted it into a financially
sound company.
Community Leader
Mark has a distinguished record of community service. In the early
1980’s, Mark united business and law enforcement to locate missing
children by including pictures of missing children on the back of
direct mail pieces to consumers. As part of his strategy, Mark
convinced local businessmen in San Diego to include the photographs
of missing children on the back of their direct mail advertising.
This program was a success, as one missing girl noticed one of the
fliers and called her family to report that she was all right.
Mark is working to reduce the enormous burden the welfare system
has on California taxpayers by getting San Diego companies to train
and hire welfare recipients. Mark is the founder of “Job Net” a
group of San Diego County businesses which have agreed to hire
welfare recipients and help them move away from welfare dependency.
As a result, Mark has come up with a plan to decrease the welfare
rolls in the county and help welfare recipients to take personal
responsibility for their lives without additional cost to taxpayers.
Mark has also organized numerous town hall forums, which have
given local residents an opportunity to meet with elected officials
about policy issues that may impact their lives. One of Mark’s
forums, attended by hundreds of San Diegans, discussed illegal
immigration long before the issue was debated statewide. Other
topics have included education, welfare reform, transportation and
internet taxation.
A leader in his church and community, Mark has worked with
at-risk children, creating and directing a county-wide program for
high school children to help them deal with the challenges they face
today, including alcohol, drugs, peer pressure, and self-respect
issues. Mark has been a leader with the YMCA, the Lay Pastor
Society, as well as a past President of his neighborhood homeowners
association. He is also a member of the San Diego Lincoln Club and
the Chambers of Commerce of Alpine, Poway, Santee, Lakeside, East
County and Rancho Bernardo.
Politics
Mark was recently named to serve on a Tax Advisory Committee for the
State Board of Equalization by Vice Chairman and elected Board
member the Honorable Claude Parrish. Co Chair with Governor
Schwarzenegger on his Education Reform Coalition. He is also
