2001 Silver Microphone Awards Announced San Diegan Mark Price, National Finalist

 

August 1, 2001 -- Mark Price, of Mark Price and Associates of San Diego has been named a National Finalist in the Silver Microphone Awards for the year 2001. The competition is designed to select the best local and regional radio commercials, audio programs and web sites created by advertising agencies, production companies and radio stations in the United States.

A radio commentary created by Mark Price titled, “Giving Your All”, (from his series of commentaries named, “If Not You - Then Who? Assuming Personal Responsibility”) was named a National Finalist in the category of Public Service.

 

The commentary’s writer, producer and talent was Mark Price. Jim Sills served as the director and production was by Tony Pepper.

The Silver Microphone Award competition was open to the more than 40,000 advertising agencies, production studios and radio stations in the United States. Entries in the 37 categories were judged for creativity, production quality, copywriting, talent and overall effectiveness. There were over 1,000 entries in the 2001 competition.

 

A panel of judges, representing all aspects of the broadcast and advertising industry rated each entry. Four finalists from each category entered a second round of judging to determine the National Winner in each category. The National Winners and National Finalists were among the best radio commercials, audio programs and web sites produced within the United States in the last year.

 

Companies of all sizes and from EACH state were represented in this the Sixteenth Annual Silver Microphone Awards Competition.
